Very busy!

Hello everyone!

3 day have past and we have been very busy.

It all started on Monday early morning when mum and dad took me to the local Health Clinic to register me and see how much I have gain in weight since I left the hospital. The nurse told me that it was pretty good and I have gain about 390grams so my weight on Monday were 2910grams, after the little weighing, mum and me got to sit down with a nurse, who asked mum some question to see if everything was good and if the breast feeding was going well. The nurse also told us about vaccination and gave us a lot of brochures and instruction booklet how to take care of me.

After the clinic visit, dad went by himself to the Birth Registration Office in Admiralty to get me a birth certificate!

On Tuesday mum and dad took me to the Swedish Consulate to get me a "personnummer" so I can apply for my passport and travel :P

Wednesday was another day to the clinic. This time to see the doctor.
I now weight 3020grams so I have gain another 110grams.
Doctor said everything looks fine with me, my skin are still little yellowish but is slowly dropping but to safe the doctor said come back for another check in about week and half time.

So this is me for now!

Hugs and kisses to all of you out there!

2 Weeks...

Hi Everyone,

Today is exactly 2 weeks ago mummy went in to hospital so tomorrow I'm exactly 2 weeks old.
This past 2weeks has included some very busy day specially.
With me and mum at the hospital, Dad and my HK grandparents has been running back and forward between home and hospital.
While at home I'm mostly giving mum a hard time. Waking up middle of the night wanting something to eat, and because I'm getting breast milk there is not much dad can do except help out with the diaper change. But I think I have been a quite nice baby girl so far just been awake once every night though this last 2 night I'll been giving my parents a bit of a hard time.

This past Friday I past the important 12 day marker which means by Chinese tradition mum can finally wash her hair. It is actually a whole month but some say it can be shorten down to 12 days. And it is also time for my grandparents to give away "Ginger Vinegar with egg and pig legs". The pig legs are apparently very good for a female born structure. So since Friday it have been full activities around the home.

Mum and dad has finally decided my Chinese name.
It will be: 陳家怡 - Chan Ka Yee. Fit me perfect because i like to smile!
So tomorrow early morning mum and dad first gone bring me to the local Government Clinic for some regular check up to see if I have grown and gain any weight.
For you reference I weighed 2655grams and 47cm long when I was born. Let see how much I have gain tomorrow.
After the check up dad will pay a visit to the Births and Deaths General Register Office to register me and get my a birth certificate so I can apply for a passport and go on holiday. :-P

Ciao for now!

The Big Big Day!!!

In the morning at 09:21 on the 15th of March 2010, I was born against my will.
As you all know mummy's placenta and my umbilical cord were not in the right positions so at the end doctor decided that a cesarean had to be done.

Everything started on the evening on the 14th. After taken the last picture of me still inside mummy's tummy, mum and dad decided to submit to the hospital to prepare for the big day.
In hospital mummy's got strict restrictions not to eat OR drink at all. Because of the big day next morning, mummy could not sleep for the whole night. Mummy had given daddy strict order not to be late that morning because the cesarean were schedule around 08:30 so as soon as daddy got home he set three different alarm clock just to be sure. But of course daddy was so nervous that he also had a hard time falling asleep and at the end he didn't even needed the alarm clock to wake him up.

Daddy arrived at the hospital about an hour early so he and mummy just sat outside the delivery room and waited. Around 08:00 the anesthetic arrived and went through the procedures and risk. After the little meeting it was time for mummy to get change and get ready for operation. Daddy was planned to go in and sit beside my during the operation but because of another mummy came in for an emergency C-section my birth was delayed by almost an hour and daddy was nervous because he was just standing outside and waiting...and waiting...and waiting...

Inside the operation theater the anesthetic was talking to mummy and calming her down.
She gave her two injection, one on the left hand to stabilize mummy's blood pressure and one in the back for the anesthesia. Immediately after that mummy's left leg started to get warm and the doctor tested if she could feel anything which she could not. After the catheter was inserted it was time for daddy to come the operation theater. Just to stop daddy from seeing all the blood and faint the nurse put a big green blanket.

Just as daddy sat down next to mummy the doctor asked:"Do you feeling anything?" and then they started..........and of course mummy could feel anything.
Not to far in to the operation the doctor said:"She is on the way, I need somebody to push above the tummy". So one of the nurses went behind mummy head and started to push downward on the tummy and she push really hard and mummy got so scared. Not to far after one of the nurse said:" O..here she is, and she is so beautiful." Then they heard a "slurping" sound because they had to clean my mouth and throat after that I immediately started to cry and cryed really loud. As soon as mummy and daddy heard me crying they burst in happy tears. Mummy cried so much that the nurse told her to take a deep breath and so did daddy because he was afraid this could effect her blood pressure.

It took a while before they could see me and mummy was wondering why it took such a long time. While the nurse cleaned me up they also show a picture of me to mum and dad, mum thought I had a big nose and "Angelina Julie" lips just like daddy. Afterwards the nurse carried me over to mum and dad and they could see me for the very first time and we took our very first family picture.
After some picture talking it was time to shower me and see how heavy I am. Daddy went along with the nurse while mummy had to stayed so the doctor could take care.
When doctor had finished. Mum was taken to a post-anesthesia care unit to rest while the doctor could explain how the operation went. As you may have guessed everything went very well. Mum did not lose much blood (880ml to be exact) and the amniotic was normal.
Dr. Mok said that she couldn't eat or drink for at least 6hrs and that she could not leave the bed for the day.

Later that evening the nurse to me out so mum could see me again.

Graviddiabetes?

The big day is getting closer...

Yesterday was time for another visit to Dr. Mok.
The Doctor is saying I'm around Week 33 now and weights around 2kg.
Mummy's weight is getting closer to daddy's, she now weights 65,4 kg and daddy thinks that the tummy is huge!

Unfortunately my placenta and umbilical cord are still very low inside mummy's tummy so doctor is saying that the chance for cesarean section is very likely.
Well at least everything is almost progressing normally.

Some of our relative came for a visit during Chinese new year.
And here are all the gifts!

So to all of you!
A Really Really Happy and Prosperous Year of the Tiger!

Mummy and me sleeping!

Hello hello,

While mummy and me are still lying in the bed and dreaming, I leave the job to my daddy for updating the blog......Zzzzzzz....

Sorry for not updating more frequently but I can assure you that a lot have happened.
So where to start.

Lets start from the where we left off.
Just in the beginning of this year me, mummy and daddy took a long trip back home to Sweden. I can tell you that the trip was very uncomfortable. A lot of pressure and ups and down. I think mummy knew that I thought it was uncomfortable, because I was really moving and kicking around and mummy said that from the outside it was shaking like Jell-O. =P
It was great to be home. Be able to meet all my grandparents, aunties and uncles.
And felt snow for the very first time, and it was snowing like crazy. Dad said that he hasn't seen that much snow in many years. I think the coldest it ever got around the west coast was about minus 20 degrees C or so.
Mummy got a lot of groceries shopping for Hong Kong while we were home and daddy was of course complaining all about it. I believe mummy filled two big suitcases with food and candy!

It was actually meant that we where to go back around the 17 of January, but flights was getting full, and because mummy and daddy was "standby" travelling, they didn't want to take the risk so we went back 2 days earlier. And on the way at the airport we pick up our new "helper".

Getting a helper from Sweden is not cheap, they require business class when travelling.
Back in Hong Kong it was time for a another check up with Dr. Mok.
Doctor is saying the everything is normal except that mummy has a low placenta (moderkaka). This means that there might be a chance that I'm coming to this world via Caesarean section.
As if that wasn't enough for that week, couple of days later just as daddy was suppose to leave for work mummy told him "Honey, I think I'm seeing some old blood". And here we go, in to the hospital to see Dr. Mok again. And this time the doctor said "hmm...you placenta is low and SO is your umbilical cord (navelsträng) and that might be causing the bleeding which is not good, so the best for you and baby is to stay at the hospital for observation couple of days. So daddy end up getting some compassionate leave to be able to stay and take care of mummy.

Can you see my face??

So know doctor have given mummy strict instruction not to move around to much and just stay at home and rest. So no more Prenatal Yoga for mummy.

Do you like mummy's new hair style? I love it!

Mummy's tummy is getting really big!! Around Week 33
